Prom Guest Policy
PROM/SCHOOL DANCES
Prom is a formal affair held every year for junior and senior students. Prom is available to all students and their guests who have not exceeded the age of 20. A guest attending from a different school must be a junior or senior in his/her home district and a student in good standing (which will be verified from that district’s administration). Prom is a privilege of the students attending high school. Therefore, it is only open to those students of good standing. Good standing will be defined by those students who do not have:
1. Excessive absences as determined by the high school principal.
2. Disciplinary action that could lead to a disruption at prom.
Students should also be making satisfactory progress towards graduation.
In the case of all dances, tickets/buttons/wristbands for the dance will go on sale two (2) Wednesdays prior to the dance, with the deadline for a guest to purchase a ticket/button/wristband the Wednesday before the dance. Kennedy Secondary School students in grades 9-12 will have until Friday at 4:00 p.m. before the dance to purchase a ticket/button/wristband. Ticket/buttons/wristbands will not be given out to guests until school administration has approved them. All students are expected to purchase tickets/buttons/ wristbands prior to the dance. These may be sold to Kennedy Secondary School students at the entry to the dance at the discretion of school administration.
